Captain Steve's Fishing Lodge
~ Nature Watching ~

For a relaxing afternoon, or after you are too tired to fish more, the waters and forested shoreline near the lodge is teaming with wildlife.

We are planning some incredible photographer's tours for this winter. Please contact us about an incredible winter nature photography tour!

  • Grizzly Bears (Alaskan Brown Bears)
  • Black Bears
  • Moose
  • CaribouAurora Borealis
  • Dahl Sheep(leads to a new website)
  • Mountain Goats
  • Beavers
  • Bald Eagles
  • Whales
  • Schooling Fish
  • Sea Ducks (marine birds)
  • Bird Watching (summer)
    ~ swallows in the spring
  • 5 Volcanoes: two are venting steam, three have erupted over the last two decades

Bring binoculars and plenty of film or digital memory.

We can take up to 6 passengers per boat/trip, on a fast and comfortable ride (at 30 knots) for photo trips.

We can land at interesting shore locations for more exploring and wildlife viewing.

There are also miles of trails surrounding our lodge.

Walking distance to the shore offers great beach combing for shells, aggates (semiprecious stones), driftwood and more.

Gold can be found almost everywhere!

Winter months at the lodge offer exceptional opportunities to explore nature by cross country skiing through our prime Alaskan landscape.

Alaska's biggest fish!

Captain Steve knows when, where & how to catch them.
